University Green (Howard Street Opposite Langsett Building),
Free
We have secured funding from Woodland Trust to plant 200 shrub saplings and need volunteers to help plant them. This will take place on December 5th at 10-12pm and 1-3pm. Please only sign up to the session you can make as we have limited spaces.
By planting these saplings, you can help improve biodiversity, increase climate resilience, help tackle air pollution and create inclusive green spaces to enhance wellbeing for students, staff, and the wider community in a city-centre with limited green spaces.
By helping to plant the saplings, you will gain practical skills and environmental awareness, as well as the opportunity to meet new people and make a difference to your community (including planting trees that will remain at Hallam for many years!).
Make sure you dress for the weather and wear shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty. All tools and instructions will be provided on the day. Travel expenses will be reimbursed by the Students’ Union and light refreshments will be provided on the day.
