Peak District, Yorkshire
From £18.00
Be part of one of Parasoc's biggest fundraising events of the year with this incredible challenge!
The 9 Edges Challenge is a 22-mile long hike along 9 of the Peak District's most famous gritstone edges, beginning at Ladybower Reservoir and ending at Birchen Edge. We are raising money for The Children's Hospital Trust who support Sheffield Children's Hospital (one of only three stand-alone specialist children’s hospitals in the UK) to help these children by providing funding for costs that go beyond NHS provisions.
We are working with Yorkie Talkies, an amazing hiking guide company that supported us last year with the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge. They provide us with support vehicles, qualified first aiders, and mountain leaders to ensure everybody's safety.
Tickets are £18 which covers our mountain leaders and support vehicles for the day at a significantly subsidised cost due to SU support funding. We're also asking for any drivers to help with transport for the challenge so if you can drive, have access to a car, and would be happy to help with transport, that would be very helpful and you will be compensated.
We will be meeting our guides early in the morning, followed by an entire day of hiking - the challenge takes approximately 10 hours. A reasonable level of fitness is required however nothing insane! It should be a brilliant day out socialising together, challenging ourselves, and most importantly raising money for an incredible charity.
Once signed up, further details for the event will follow nearer the time, including a meeting with Yorkie Talkies to ensure everybody is prepared and knows what to expect.
