In celebration of International Women’s Day, you're invited to an inspiring evening highlighting the achievements, experiences, and journeys of women working across the sports industry.
Hear directly from leading industry professionals as they share real-life experiences, the challenges they’ve overcome, and the diverse pathways that led them into sport. Whether you’re considering a career in the industry or simply looking to be inspired, join us at Cambridge Street Collective's rooftop bar to gain valuable insight and advice from those who've paved the way.
There will also be an interactive Q&A session, providing the opportunity to ask questions, seek guidance, and engage in meaningful discussion.
We're pleased to welcome the following speakers:
- Alex Denham - For the past decade, I’ve travelled the world as a sports photographer, documenting stories in over 50 countries and across six continents, everywhere from New Zealand to Canada. From the intensity of Formula One to the heritage of the FA Cup, my work focuses on capturing emotion — the tension before a race, the quiet moments behind the scenes, and the details that bring sport to life. As a Fujifilm ambassador, I’m proud to use my platform to champion greater accessibility and opportunity for women in sport photography.
- Elspeth Yates - I’m a life, career and business coach passionate about helping people live happy lives. This might be through growing a business, removing a fear, developing practices around a neurodiversity or identifying a new career. Before becoming a coach, I spent nearly a decade working in professional sport as a broadcast producer, and I still work with a number of pro athletes and sports business owners. As a producer you get to see almost every role in sport, whether that's directly on the event or through interviews and conversations as I got to know the people and places I was working in. I worked alongside athletes, coaches, venues, nutritionists, event organisers, volunteers, judges, sports psyches and many more. This experience has continued to help me while working with athletes on progression planning and personal development and has been invaluable in helping people who want to work in the world of sport. I believe we all have more potential than we realise. Sometimes we just need the right space, the right questions and the right support to unlock it.
- Nicola Skedgel - Nichola Skedgel is the Head of Competition and Partnerships at England Athletics, bringing over 20 years of experience working within National Governing Bodies across the sport sector. Her career spans a wide range of roles, including leadership in affiliation services, coach licensing, stakeholder engagement and of course competition and events. She is passionate about strengthening the sport through effective collaboration and ensuring high quality competition opportunities across England.
- Sheena Mobberley - Hallam Alumni/ Recruitment in sports and career/ leadership coach
- Jude Handley- I’m passionate about driving positive change in sport and physical activity, designing collaborative programmes that strengthen communities and increase participation. A results-driven Programme Manager with 20 years’ experience, I’ve led national strategies, built high-performing teams, and currently oversee grassroots development and membership growth at Archery GB, delivering sustainable, scalable impact across the sector.
- Rachel Habergham - I grew up surrounded by sport but didn’t enjoy playing until my daughter discovered football, beginning our family’s journey in the game. All three of my daughters are now involved in football, and for the past six years I’ve worked in grassroots football, including serving as the first female board member at Sheffield & Hallam County FA. Today, I focus on developing pan-disability football and championing inclusive leadership, combining my professional background in organisational development with my volunteer work to help make sport truly inclusive.
