Ramadan mubarak!
Date: 5th March
Time: 5:30pm
Location: Hallam Hall, Owen building, Level 6
Ramadan is a time where muslims fast from sunrise to sunset and use this month to focus on worship. Join us at the iftar to break your fast with us.
For this event feel free to start coming from 5:30pm onwards, maghrib is at 5:54pm, a good use of time while you wait for maghrib would be making dua.
A hadith by Abu Hurayrah narrates: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “There are three whose du’aa’ is not rejected: a just ruler, the fasting person when he breaks his fast and the prayer of the oppressed person. It rises above the clouds and the gates of heaven are opened for it, and the Lord, may He be glorified, says, ‘By My Glory I will answer you even if it is after a while.’” (Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 2525; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi, 2050.)
The event will go as follows: arrive, wait for maghrib, break fast with dates or water, we'll pray maghrib in congregation in the Atrium, Owen Level 2, following salah we'll go back to Hallam Hall and we'll eat together.
This event will be segregated due to islamic rulings, to avoid freemixing brothers and sisters will sit seperately with a barrier dividing them down the middle. Please purchase the correct ticket as there's a brothers form and a sisters form. For non-muslims please choose the ticket that represents your gender identity more. Everyone is welcome, please bring along your friends and we're looking forward to seeing you there!
