We are happy to announce that the first-ever Education Society Graduation Ball will be hosted at the Crowne Plaza.

The Ball is a great opportunity to celebrate your achievements throughout your time at Hallam with friends and course staff. The event is open to all members of the Society regardless of what level/year. The Ball is prioritising members in in their final year of any course within the Institute of Education including undergraduate and postgraduate courses, academic staff with the institution, and a limited number of plus ones for students who wish to bring a plus one. 

The Ball will be hosted at the Crown Plaza Royal Victoria Hotel Sheffield, S4 7YE, which is a traditional 19th-century redbrick building with a luxurious ballroom and grand entrance on the edge of the city centre.

Your ticket includes:

- Grand Red-Carpet entry.

- 3-course meal

- Photobooth

- Freebies from the Positive Teacher Company, local businesses, exclusive discounts for education must-haves and more.

- Ballroom dance floor, with DJ and Song requests*

- A separate private bar and lounge room if you wish to escape the noise and bustle of the disco and ballroom.

- Private security for the whole event, the whole is there to ensure safety and that everyone is safe when leaving the ball.

*Song requests must be made before the event via the booking form sent after you have purchased your ticket.

Doors will open at 7 pm, with the meal starting at 7:30 pm.

There is lots of free parking available and a great driveway that takes you to the entrance if you want to make your grand entrance in style. (Limo’s welcome) 

Ticket types:

We have three different tickets available for the graduation ball, you must book the correct ticket depending on your membership.

- Members (Student & Academics) £40: This ticket is for students with a FREE student membership with the Hallam Education Society or academics with a FREE associate membership.

- Non-Members (Students & Academics) £42: This ticket is for students and academics who don’t have a FREE membership with the Hallam Education Society.

- Student Plus One Ticket £42: This ticket is for anyone who is not a student within the institution of education and/or a student at Sheffield Hallam University. This ticket must be purchased by a student and the plus one name added when asked, and only students who are members of the Hallam Education Society are allowed up to one plus one.

You can now buy your £10 non-refunded ticket to reserve your space; all deposit tickets must be bought by Wednesday, 19th February 2025, at 9 pm. The £10 deposit will be deducted from your total ticket cost. On this date full price tickets will be avaliable to purchase in full.

You will need to pay the remaining cost of your ticket. The remaining cost will be able to be paid by Wednesday 5th March by 9 pm. 

Once you have paid the full price for a ticket, you will receive an email from educationsociety.sh@gmail.com within one full working week , with a link to a Google form to complete to inform us of your food choices and support us in making seating plans and ensuring you have the best time. Please check your junk mail if you do not recieve.
