As part of International Women's Day we're kicking off a programme of Women's Self Defence classes!
Our accredited guest coach from Power For Women will take you through techniques to help disengage and evade tricky situations to help keep you safe and improve your confidence.
Firstly we will develop your ability to withstand being pushed about or being pulled to somewhere against your will by working on footwork, balance and the correct self defence stance that allows you to be super strong and ready.
The second facet we will develop is the ability to hit really hard, for those situations that require it when absolutely necessary. Developing the Palm Heel strike into quite a powerful move for every person attending.
Finally covering how to efficiently escape being grabbed from the rear. What to do if someone has grabbed you into a ‘bear hug’ - the reality of how to deal with it rather than the martial arts ways, which could lead to further problems.
The goal is to equip participants so you can walk away confidently with a set of skills you could use right away should you need to.
These sessions are designed with Women and Women's biology in mind. Men's and Women's Self Defence requires different techniques, tactics and approaches.
