Tickets come off sale at 5pm on Monday 27th January.
This day is designed to give people the experience of forest school and to learn how to understand what forest school is and how it can be implemented in schools.
Through the day you will learn how to make a fire, how to use tools in the outdoors, how to toast marshmallows and how to effectively teach in the outdoors.
"As someone who has experienced sessions run by these leaders I know we are in for an amazing, fun experience where everyone will learn so much about forest schools and outdoor learning." Megan Rowberry (Society Secretary)
Please dress appropriately, we recommend waterproof coat, waterproof trousers and walking boots/wellies/old trainers. If you don't own any of these there are many shops around Sheffield that sells them, and amazon sell some great cheap water proofs.
You must bring your own pack lunch and full water bottle. There is no lunch provided and no access onsite to equipment to warm food up.
The day will be led by Chris Smith and Phillipa Thompson. Chris is the owner of Well and Wild and teaches forest school to all ages and Phillipa is a senior lecturer and course lead at Nottingham Trent University.
Although with this day you will not get an official forest school qualification, as that takes a lot more time. However, you will get a certificate of attendance and a day to understand if forest school and outdoor learning is something you would like to include in your professional development.
This event will still be going ahead if it's raining all day, however may be cancelled due to extreme weather such as heavy snow fall.
