Want to know more about who young carers are and how you can support and identify them in the classroom?
This training event, delivered by Sheffield Young Carers Project, a local Sheffield Charity, and hosted by Hallam Education Society, will introduce you to the laws and legislations about safeguarding young carers in education, and how you can identify and support them within the classroom.Â
Looking at a broad range of settings including EYFS, Primary, Secondary and Post-16 and how the signs that someone is a young carer and how you support them in each setting will differ.Â
You'll have an opportunity to look at real young carers' stories and reflect on the signs and how you could support them within an education setting and ask any questions you may have for Sheffield Young Carers and/or a former young carer, now young adult carer who is currently studying Early Years and Primary Education (3-7) at Hallam.
All attendees will receive a certificate for attending and can go on to complete the E-Module to gain further qualifications that will look great on teaching job applications and support your continued professional development.
