Millennium Gallery, 48 Arundel Gate, Sheffield
Over 75 years ago the Empire Windrush brought people seeking new opportunities from the Caribbean to the UK. These passengers answered the call to fill post-war labour shortages in the UK and helped forge Britain’s future. Some settled in Sheffield to work in the Steel Industry, the NHS and other roles. The exhibition Caribbean Footsteps celebrates their huge contribution to the life of the city. Reverend Claris talks about the experiences of the Windrush generation with other African/Caribbean Community Elders.
No ticket required, call in, enjoy the exhibition and chat to the Elders.
